Tamamaru is the pen name of the Japanese author of My Quiet Blacksmith Life in Another World, a gentle 'slow life' isekai light novel. Like most light-novel writers, the author keeps no public biography.
True to its title, the series trades the usual heroics of the reincarnation genre for the quiet satisfactions of a craft: its protagonist, carried into another world, sets up as a blacksmith and builds an unhurried life around the forge, the everyday work of making, and the community that grows up around it.
The story began as a web novel on the Japanese platform Shosetsuka ni Naro in 2018 before print publication under Kadokawa's Fujimi Shobo imprint. Illustrated by Kinta, published in English by J-Novel Club and adapted into a manga, it is Tamamaru's defining work.
