Susan Hayes is a Canadian author of science-fiction and paranormal romance, and a USA Today bestseller, who writes, in her own words, 'romance to fuel your fantasies'.
Long based on the west coast of Canada and more recently relocated to the southern coast of Australia, she has built a vast, interconnected body of steamy, good-humoured romance. Her tagline promises exactly what it delivers: possessive aliens, cyborgs and shifters, and the human women who bring them to heel.
Much of her science fiction unfolds in a single sprawling universe, The Drift, with its own web of sub-series and space stations, while the Crashed and Claimed books - opening with Marked For Rage, in which a cargo pilot named Mercy finds an escaped alien prisoner aboard her ship - run on the 'fated mates' premise her readers love. Beyond the stars she writes paranormal romance in series such as Guardians and Kismet Cove, and contemporary romance in the Wilde Brothers.
By her own cheerful account watched over by her 'step-lizards' and kept in coffee by a devoted husband, she is an adventurer off the page too, having jumped out of aeroplanes and accidentally swum with sharks on the Great Barrier Reef.
