Misaki is the pen name of the Japanese author behind A Gentle Noble's Vacation Recommendation, a popular and unusually relaxed isekai light-novel series. As is common for light-novel writers, no public biography exists, and little about the person behind the name is known.
The story began as a web novel on the Japanese platform Shosetsuka ni Naro ('Let's Become a Novelist') in 2014 before print publication by TO Books. Its charm is its calm: Lizel, a poised young nobleman spirited away into an unfamiliar world, declines to panic or rush home, instead hiring a gruff adventurer named Gil as a bodyguard and treating his predicament as a well-earned holiday - a gentle, character-led adventure rather than a tale of peril.
Illustrated by Sando and adapted into manga, stage plays and, in 2026, a television anime, the series has grown into a sizeable franchise. It remains Misaki's defining work.
