James E. Wisher is an American author of fantasy and science fiction, and one of the quiet workhorses of independent publishing.
He has been writing since high school and reading everything he could get his hands on for as long as he can remember, publishing his first novel, Children of Darkness, in 2006 before hitting a remarkable stride from the mid-2010s onwards, with more than sixty books now to his name.
His best-known series is The Aegis of Merlin, an urban fantasy that opens with The Impossible Wizard, set in a world where magic is wielded only by women and society is ruled by a strong matriarchy, until Conryu Koda, a young man with simple ambitions of working on bikes and practising kung fu, tests positive for wizard potential and upends the established order.
His other series span epic and heroic fantasy, including the Soul Force Saga, which follows Damien St. Cloud, born with the most powerful soul force ever seen yet unable to make it work, along with the Portal Wars Saga, The Dragonspire Chronicles, The Divine Key Trilogy, The 72 Demons and the Rogue Star science fiction novels.
Recent work includes the Summoned to Another World and Forced to Fight the Demon King series, with new titles appearing at a pace most authors would find alarming.
