Dante King is a prolific American author of fantasy adventure in the HaremLit and progression fantasy mould, publishing at a pace that would exhaust most writers, with dozens of series to his name including Immortal Swordslinger, Realm Master, Arcane Lawmaker, After the End and Supernatural Travel Agency, several written under the related name D.B. King.
Legend to Farmer, which ran to eight books between 2023 and 2025, is his take on the cosy end of the genre, a slice-of-life fantasy with a wry premise: Valdis Wolfbane, a legendary commander renowned for his physical prowess and mighty conquests, gives it all up to buy a dilapidated farm, exchanging a sword for a plough and setting out to live off the land in peace. What he didn't bet on was finding love, plural, after all those years of fighting, and the series follows the farm's growth alongside his unconventional household of dark elves, huntresses and monster hunters, with the old life's schemes and sky pirates never quite leaving him be.
Readers praise it as easy-going escapism, a fusion of swords, magic and homesteading in which, as the blurb has it, the only corpses left behind are kale stems.
He maintains an active Patreon where new work appears ahead of publication.
