Regine Abel is a Canadian-born author of science-fiction and paranormal romance, now based in Europe, and a USA Today bestseller with more than sixty titles to her name.
Hers was a winding road to writing. She spent about a decade as a sound engineer, mixing film dubbing and live concerts, before becoming a game designer and creative director - a career that carried her from Canada to the United States and on through Europe and Asia - and only then turned to fiction full time. A self-confessed 'fantasy, paranormal and sci-fi junkie', she cites Nalini Singh, Ruby Dixon and R. Lee Smith among her influences.
Her best-known work is the alien-romance line built around the Prime Mating Agency and her long run of standalone 'I Married a...' novels - Naga, Merman, Minotaur and many more - each pairing a human heroine with a very non-human mate. In I Married a Naga, a woman named Serena, stranded on the planet Trangor, must marry the Ordosian warrior Szaro or forfeit her life. Beyond them lie further series such as the Veredian Chronicles and her contributions to the shared-world Valos of Sonhadra.
