Robyn Wideman is a Canadian author of fantasy, LitRPG and GameLit, writing from Salmon Arm in British Columbia.
He began self-publishing in 2015 and found an audience so quickly - within a month, by his account - that he left his day jobs to write full time, and now releases his work through his own imprint, Magicblood Media. His range, in his own words, runs 'from teen high fantasy to LitRPG and GameLit, with a little urban fantasy and science fiction thrown in to keep things confusing'.
He launched with the Stoneblood Saga, a teenage sword-and-sorcery series, and has since built out a broad shelf of game-inflected fantasy. In the New Realm Online series, which opens with RE-ROLL, a young gamer wins coveted access to a hot new game only to be betrayed by his guild and forced to start his character over, while Darkthorn Academy and the post-apocalyptic Apocalypse Online carry the GameLit adventure into new settings.
A self-confessed 'sports junkie' who follows the Toronto Raptors and BC Lions, he writes the kind of fast, accessible adventure that keeps readers turning pages.
