Jeffrey Ford is an American writer of fantasy and science fiction, known for strange and inventive stories. His first major novel, The Physiognomy, won the World Fantasy Award. The Shadow Year, a novel of childhood on Long Island in the 1960s, won it again, and he has won several more for his short fiction.
