By day a computer programmer with a master's degree in mathematics, she writes at night from her home in Missouri, where she lives with her husband and children. A lifelong devotee of mythology, fairy tales and romance, she is drawn above all to heroes 'who hide behind a mask, the darker and more dangerous the better'.
