Jay Krauss is a self-published author of science fiction and fantasy, and a writer of fast-rising progression fantasy that blends Eastern mythology with Western epic.
Krauss offers little by way of biography beyond a wry self-portrait - 'an animal lover, software developer, traditional blacksmith, modern woodworker, terrible mechanic, avid reader, and author', a self-styled 'master of no trades, perhaps, but a consummate dabbler'. The books, which began appearing in the mid-2020s, have quickly drawn a devoted readership.
The main sequence, Will of the Immortals, follows a hero named Leon through a world 'where eastern mythology meets western fantasy', from Steel Foundations through Spirit's Call and on across eight volumes. A companion series, The Immortals' Mask, turns to a different figure, Sataou, in what the author calls 'a tale of revenge and sacrifice' set in the same world - so readers can enter either through a classic hero's journey or through something darker.
Whichever door you choose, Krauss promises 'a world unlike any other, where magic, gods and monsters' await.
