R.C. Joshua is the pen name of an author of cosy, comic LitRPG - light, game-structured fantasy with a slice-of-life heart - who has built a large online readership in a remarkably short time.
Publishing only since 2024 and describing himself simply as 'a thirty-something from the southwest', he keeps things cheerfully vague, offering a bio that runs mostly to jokes about being outcompeted by his 'increasingly capable children' ('It's him or them, folks'). He serialises his stories on Royal Road, where they have drawn large followings, before releasing them through Podium.
His breakout is Demon World Boba Shop, a warm slice-of-life LitRPG in which a man named Arthur dies, is reincarnated into a demon world, and - rather than seeking power or vengeance - finds contentment running a bubble-tea shop; it has gathered more than a million views online. Around it he writes brisker, higher-stakes fare, from the apocalyptic How to Survive at the End of the World to the isekai adventure Deadworld Isekai and the progression fantasy Infinite Farmer.
Prolific and good-humoured, he writes the kind of low-stress, comfort-read fantasy his growing audience keeps coming back for.
