D.B. King is the pen name of a highly prolific independent author of LitRPG and progression fantasy, publishing since 2021. Almost nothing about the person is public - no biography, nationality or real name has been released - but the books themselves have found a wide audience, often in collaboration with other writers in the genre.
The Dungeon of Evolution series, which opens with Thief's Bounty, is a 'dungeon core' story in which an exile named Marcus gains the power to create pocket dungeons that evolve as items are placed inside them. In Apocalypse Knights, a war veteran named Maximo Strident survives the dungeon not through magic but through the disciplined sword forms of a Blade Academy, while Crafter's Fate imagines a world in which the 'Fated', gifted by the gods, rise above ordinary humanity. His Last Magus series is among his most popular.
