C.S. Lewis's seven books for children tell of Narnia, a land of talking animals and magic watched over by the great lion Aslan, reached from our world through a wardrobe, a painting and stranger doors. They were published from 1950 to 1956, beginning with The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe. Since the 1990s, editions have numbered them in story order, starting with The Magician's Nephew, which tells how Narnia began. Readers still disagree about which order is better, so both are shown here.
