The Murderbot Diaries

Martha Wells's science fiction is narrated by a security android that has hacked its own controls and calls itself Murderbot. It would mostly like to be left alone to watch its favourite shows, but it keeps having to protect the humans it is assigned to. The first four books are novellas, published in 2017 and 2018, and Network Effect is the first full-length novel. Fugitive Telemetry came out after Network Effect but is set before it, so the series can be read in either order.
