Becky Chambers's Wayfarers books are warm, hopeful science fiction set among the many species of the Galactic Commons. Each novel follows a different cast - the crew of a tunnelling ship, an artificial intelligence learning to live in a body, the descendants of Earth's last fleet, strangers stranded at a refuelling stop - with only light links between them, so they can be read in any order. The series won the Hugo Award for Best Series in 2019.
