The wishlist was always the neglected sibling. You could add books to it, sort them, mark priority. That was about it.
Meanwhile the main library had search, filters, URL sync, the works. The wishlist just sat there being basic.
Fixed now.
You can now search your wishlist by title or author. Type a few characters, see matching books instantly.
Filters work the same as the library:
Combine them. Filter by high priority books from a specific author. The counts update as you filter so you can see how many match.
Filtered views sync to the URL. Bookmark a filtered view, share it, or just hit back to return to where you were.
Previously, adding a book to your wishlist meant going to the Add Book page, searching there, then choosing "Add to Wishlist" instead of "Add to Library". Bit of a faff.
Now there's a search box right on the wishlist page. Search by title, author, or ISBN. Tap a result to add it. Done.
This one was annoying. Say you wishlisted the hardcover of a book. Later you search for the paperback - same title, same author, different ISBN. The old code said "already in wishlist" and wouldn't let you add it.
Now it's smarter. Exact ISBN match? Shows "In Wishlist" and blocks the add (you genuinely have that exact edition). Same title and author but different ISBN? Shows "Other ed. wishlisted" as a warning but still lets you add. Because sometimes you want both.
Desktop has a proper sidebar now, matching the library. Filters on the left, wishlist items on the right.
Mobile keeps things compact. Filters live in a bottom sheet - tap the filter button to open it, apply your filters, done.
The wishlist is no longer the neglected sibling. Still simpler than the main library - it doesn't need genres or series or reading status - but now it's actually useful for finding things.
