About This Book

In the Yorkshire moors of the 1760s, David Hartley gathers a gang of weavers and labourers into the Cragg Vale Coiners, who clip and forge the coin of the realm - a hanging offence. When an excise officer sets out to bring them down, and the coming of industry begins to change the country around them, Hartley's empire starts to crumble. Based on a true story.
