Roy is the pen name of the Japanese author best known for writing the light novel series By the Grace of the Gods (known in Japan as Kamitachi ni Hirowareta Otoko).
While Roy wrote the original story, the manga adaptation (which began in 2017) is illustrated by the manga artist Ranran.
The story follows Ryouma Takebayashi, a middle-aged Japanese man who dies in his sleep and is reincarnated by three benevolent gods into a magical fantasy world, where he decides to live peacefully researching slimes and taming monsters.
