Cover to Cover

Cover to Cover is Book Assembly's end-of-year retrospective, built like a story rather than a long scroll. Tap or swipe through nine cards that summarise your year of reading, then share any card as an image to wherever you like.

Nine cards, told as a story

Each year's deck walks through the things worth noticing about your year:

  • An opener with your year-in-books headline
  • The big number (books finished) with a row of covers
  • What you read (top genres and moods)
  • Your most-read author with their books
  • A "Did you know" hook (longest vs shortest book ratio, distinct moods, or total pages, whichever fits)
  • Your most-read month with the books finished in it
  • Reading firsts (first finish, longest, first re-read)
  • Your favourite (top-rated book of the year)
  • A finale to round things off

Cards self-suppress when their data is not there, so a sparse year still flows cleanly without "no data" placeholders.

Available for every year you have logged

You can open Cover to Cover for any previous year that has reading activity, including years brought over from a Goodreads or StoryGraph import. The current year unlocks on 1 December each year so the deck does not appear mid-year.

Tap, swipe, or use the keyboard

On mobile, tap the right side of the screen to advance or swipe left. On desktop, click or use the keyboard arrow keys. Esc closes the deck and returns you to the stats page. Card transitions slide in from the appropriate direction with a fade, and respect your "reduce motion" system setting.

Share any card

Every shareable card has a small share button that generates a brand-styled portrait image (1080 by 1350 pixels), ready for social posts or messaging. It uses your device's native share sheet where supported (including macOS), or downloads as a PNG otherwise. The image carries the Book Assembly logo, your year, the card's headline, and any relevant book covers. No personally-identifying information is included.
