Offline Support

Your book collection should be available whenever you need it, even without an internet connection. Book Assembly is built as a Progressive Web App (PWA), which means it works offline so you can browse your library anywhere.

Browse your library without internet

Once you have visited Book Assembly and loaded your library, your book data is cached locally on your device. That means you can open the app on the train, at the bookshop, or anywhere else with patchy signal and still see your full collection. No loading spinners, no error messages, just your books.

Install it on your home screen

Because Book Assembly is a PWA, you can add it to your home screen on any device. It will open in its own window, with its own icon, just like a native app. There is no app store involved, no downloads to manage, and no updates to install. When improvements are made, you get them automatically the next time you open the app.

Works on all your devices

Book Assembly works on any device with a modern web browser. That includes:

• iPhones and iPads (Safari)
• Android phones and tablets (Chrome, Firefox, Edge)
• Laptops and desktops (any modern browser)

Your library syncs across all your devices through your account, so you can log a page update on your phone and see it reflected on your laptop straight away.

Changes sync when you are back online

If you make changes while offline, they will sync automatically once your connection is restored. You do not need to do anything special. Just use the app as normal and everything catches up in the background.

Light mode and dark mode

Whether you prefer a bright screen or something easier on the eyes for late-night reading, Book Assembly supports both light mode and dark mode. It follows your device settings by default, so it will match whatever you already use. You can also switch manually if you prefer one over the other.
