Wishlist
We all have a list of books we want to get to someday. Book Assembly gives you a dedicated wishlist to keep track of every title you have your eye on, so nothing slips through the cracks when you are browsing a bookshop or looking for your next read.
Adding books
Search for any book by title, author, or ISBN and add it to your wishlist with a single tap. The search pulls from online databases, so even newer releases should show up. If you spot a book in the wild, you can also scan its barcode to add it quickly.
Prioritise your reading
Not every book on your wishlist is equally urgent. Set a priority level for each one, choosing from high, medium, or low. This makes it easy to filter down to the books you are most excited about when it is time to pick your next read, or to spot the ones worth grabbing when you see a sale.
Personal notes
Ever added a book to a list and then forgotten why? Each wishlist entry has a notes field where you can jot down the reason you added it. Maybe a friend recommended it, you saw it on a podcast, or the premise caught your attention. When you come back to your wishlist later, those notes are right there to remind you.
From wishlist to library
When you finally get a book from your wishlist, moving it into your library takes one click. The book transfers across with all the details already filled in, so you can start tracking your reading straight away without entering everything again.
Finding what you need
As your wishlist grows, finding specific books stays simple:
- Filter by priority level to focus on what matters most
- Filter by author to see all books from a writer you love
- Search within your wishlist by title or author
- Switch between grid view and list view
Smart detection
The wishlist is designed to stay clean and useful. Duplicate detection prevents you from adding the same book twice. If you try to add a book that is already on your wishlist, you will see a helpful message instead of creating a duplicate.
The system is also edition-aware. If you add a different edition of a book that is already on your wishlist (for example, the paperback when you already have the hardcover listed), you will see a badge letting you know. You can still add it if you want both editions, but the heads-up is there so you can make an informed choice.
