The Locus Awards are voted on each year by the readers of Locus, the magazine of the science fiction and fantasy field. Locus gave a single Best Novel award from 1971 until it was split into science fiction and fantasy in 1978, and this list follows the science fiction line from Larry Niven’s Ringworld through Ursula K. Le Guin, Dan Simmons and Connie Willis to Ann Leckie, Martha Wells and John Scalzi. This list collects the winning novels by year.
Shortlists and longlists from Wikidata and the award’s own announcements; books we don’t yet have are listed by title.
